Our commitment to your privacy
CNS Precision Assembly / CNS is committed to the privacy of our clients, families, carers and supporters. CNS is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in the Privacy Act (1988), and the Privacy Amendment (Enhancing Privacy Protection) Act 2012, which came into force in March 2017, regulates how organisations may collect, use, disclose and store personal information and how individuals may access and correct personal information held about them.
If there is any inconsistency between this policy and the APPs, then the APPs prevail.
CNS only uses personal information/images for the purposes for which the information/images were collected (for example, to provide services or support to a person), related purposes where the individual would reasonably expect us to use the information/image for that purpose, other purposes for which we received consent or otherwise as permitted by the APPs.
CNS does not give information about a person to other organisations, government agencies or anyone else unless one of the following applies
- The person has consented
- The person reasonably expects us to or we have told them we will
- It is required or authorised by law
- We believe the disclosure is necessary to prevent or lessen a serious and imminent threat to somebody’s life, health or safety; or
- In other circumstances permitted by the APPs (for example, if we reasonably believe the disclosure is reasonably necessary for law enforcement purposes)
