Wishing everyone a very Happy Diwali!

Our SMT Supervisor, Narinder, explains how people celebrate Diwali by exchanging gifts, spending time with loved ones, eating and praying. Over five days families gather to pray for prosperity and rid the darkness and evil forces with an extravagant display of lights, candles, firecrackers and fireworks.

Narinder performs random PCB inspections to ensure we have very few quality issues. For CNS, quality has never been an afterthought. All our staff follow the ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System daily to perform their duties.

May this Diwali bring with it fresh hopes, brighter days, and new dreams!

Things you may not know about PCB production…

Did you know that Printed circuit boards (PCBs) are not limited to straight lines? PCBs are usually a flat laminated composite made from non-conductive materials with layers of copper circuitry covered internally or on the external surfaces. They can be as simple as one or two layers of copper or in high density applications they can have 24 layers or more. For efficiency PCBs are manufactured in a panel with a number of circuits and use break-off tabs to de-panel. “Mouse bites” are a line of tiny holes in a PCB board just like the holes around postage stamps, permitting small PCBs to be used in an array. Drilling these holes leaves rough edges of extra remaining material sticking out the side. While a V-groove PCB with a V-scored top and bottom provides neat smooth de-panelling. Non-rectangular outlines are routed and usually supported with mouse bites or small tabs.

“Through hole” components are mounted by their wire leads passing through the board and soldered to tracks on the other side. “Surface mount” components are attached by their leads to copper tracks on the same side of the board. A board may use both methods for mounting components.

CNS are experts in all aspects of PCB manufacturing and product assembly. Whether you need prototypes, low-volume or medium-to high-volume production runs we are ready to assist you. And we’ve enhanced our Quality Management System to better satisfy our customers and to improve management of the company. Our Quality Management System complies with the International Standard ISO 9001:2015.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!

While it might be Spring in Australia, people of the Northern Hemisphere Asian countries are preparing for the second biggest festival of the year, the Mid-Autumn Festival. The festival is all about eating delicious Chinese Mooncakes and spending time with family and friends. Decorating and displaying lanterns has become an integral symbol of the festival. You can buy a variety of mooncakes including traditional pastry styles filled with bean paste and salted duck egg yolks or modern varieties made with ice-cream, chocolate or jelly. And while it may not be possible to gather in person this year, it’s still a great time to connect. Sharing round mooncakes among family members during the week of the festival signifies the completeness and unity of families. Celebrations can last for days but they may only last one day in Australia.

CNS is proud of the diverse range of cultures within our workplace that helps us deal with the different nuances within a global marketplace. A diverse workplace is an important asset since it acknowledges the individual strengths of each employee and the potential they bring.
